Was this your intention What was your inspiration behind the gameMaking a hybrid of those games wasnt my intention in the beginning but the idea developed over time. Both Minecraft and Zelda were definitely big inspirations for me.What I like about Minecraft is the fact that the procedurally generated world constructed of cubes allows just one developer to produce a full 3D game having a huge world to explore. You have no idea need level editors modeling software or a team of artists. Furthermore programming a game engine depending on voxels is by far easier compared to a full-blown 3D engine like CryEngine or UnrealEngine in the cost of realism that literally brings me on the next inspirations I love games like Zelda Landstalker Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy. As a youngster Ive always dreamt of making this type of game by myself. So the subsequent step for Cube World ended up being translate the standard JRPG pixel art style (big head spiky hair etc.) into the globe of voxels.
