The Battlefield 3 beta is in full swing and in the weekend some clever chaps decided to create a mod for your PC version from the game..The gamers modded the Operation Metro map to guide 128 players instead of the standard 32 because have you thought to right We knew this stuff were going to happen but what you may not have seen coming was EA and DICEs response..According to Rock Paper Shotgun In an official statement on the forum which now looks like its been pulled they claimed that playing about the hacked servers can ca use your account to get compromised stats being altered or other issues to arise which may cause having your bank account being banned by EA. If your money does get banned it mean every other EA game you've got in your account would be also unavailable..YIKES That is a serious punishment. Especially considering some of these mods are popping up within the official Battlelog browser. Considering that DICE has recently come to say the Battlefield 3 is meant to the PC and being hand-crafted for that PC I understand they're protective of their product. But punishing the consumers who pay for that product only for experimenting and then threatening all another products they taken care of of your stuff seems just mean-spirited..What can you guys think relating to this Does DICE and EA have the right to accomplish this Have you seen any hacked servers or mods for the beta Do you believe hacking and modding for PC games is simply something publishers should stop worrying about Let me me know your ideas in the comment below.
